A Poem for Mother Trần Thị Nga and her four young children

Determination in the face of policers
Your face as bright as the dawn sun
Beautiful as the River of ChâuGiang
Deep and wide as the Red River delta zone
Trần ThịNga's determination face
And we remember yours forever

Generous and ready to offer
Your life and your four young children
For Vietnam's Freedom and Democracy
We remember Trần ThịNga's determination attitude
And we remember yours forever
Frank as a simple declaration
Bold like the bitter experience as an osin in Taiwan
We remember your determination attitude
And we remember yours forever

Even when you are Mother of four children
You have a great responsibility towards your society
We remember your determination face
And we remember yours forever
Your engagement and your determination
Like an umbilical cord
Pulling me back tenderly
Pulling us back lovely to a Homeland
of kind faces with gentle smiles
Radiating Home
Radiating Peace
Radiating Friendship and Love

Your your determination face
Is waking me up from nightmares
Turned into daymares
Millions of indifferent slavemares
In the pro-china Red hell
They call : «Socialist Republic of Vietnam»
When policers came and took Mother
From four young children
In the last week before Vietnamese New Year
I remember your determination attitude
And I remember yours forever
http://fvpoc.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Tu-nhan-luong-tam.jpg
All turned us into the statistics of Prisoners of Conscience
We remember your determination face
And we remember yours forever
In the midst of my longest exile
I remember your determination smile
In the midst of our despair
We remember your determination smile
We call on your determination smile
To give us light
https://anhbasam.files.wordpress.com/2017/01/h1235.jpg
The pro-china traitors have been trying
To take away your determination smile
They want to wipe it off your determination face
Like they are wiping us off our Motherland
But you still smile that determination smile in prison cells
And your smile does shine stronger and stronger
Beaming rays of Liberty and Freedom
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/N5WD-S1nZV4/hqdefault.jpg
We love your determination attitude
We need your determination attitude
Your determination attitude is strong enough
To melt that Red dictatorship
Into love songs
Sweet as the nectar of Liberty and Freedom

We must liberate to free that determination smile
Unchain that determination smile
Do unchain that smile
Let's set her free
Let that smile shine out and warm us
I want to see that determination smile
Make Vietnam's Youth believe
And light up their Dreams at midnight
We must free that determination smile
That Freedom smile
That Liberty smile
So we all can smile again

From the narrowest window of her smallest prison cell
She still does see green trees
Who are smiling at her determination face
And jail rooftops crowded with her four children
And windows weeping and praying for her
Trần Thị Nga the bravest Mother
She is the dearest daughter of Heroines Trưng and Triệu
From the narrowest window of her smallest prison cell -
Tonight, Trần Thị Nga can see our biggest cell !

Thinking from a little jail for a big prison : «Who will speak if you don't ? »

The sunset over NhaTrang's beach is beautiful
CamRanh Bay fades into the darkness
Towards the troubled East Sea
The albatros' voice is calling Home
The greenfields grow silent under horizon
For the farmers and peasants now feel unhappy
To loose all their gardens, houses and fields

A Conscience Prisoner is looking
Through the hole of her cell
With a great desire, longing aspiration
And thirst to a warm Home
In the evening with her old Mother
And young Children
A normal family in NhaTrang SeaCity
And She pour forth her thoughts
As though her Heart and Mind was resting.
Thinking from a little jail for a big prison :
«Who will speak if you don't ? »

A Conscience Prisoner is looking
Through the hole of her cell
Fields, forest, mountains and rivers
Are still darkening in Her Motherland
And in the black sky appears a Northern Star . . .
O Star ! My Star of tonight ! . . .
And the tears fall silently . . .
O Sun ! My Star of Tomorrow ! . . .

Shall you then also rise in Vietnam ?
A Conscience Prisoner is looking
Through the hole of her cell tonight
With a great desire, longing aspiration
And thirst to a warm Home
In the evening with her old Mother
And young Children
A normal family in NhaTrang SeaCity
And She pour forth her thoughts
As though her Heart and Mind was resting.
Thinking from a little jail for a big prison :
«Who will speak if you don't ? »

These poetic lines now are written in her Heart
For millions of Her compatriots
And even only for Her comrades-in-arms, Prisoners of Conscience
«Mother Mushroom», She is writing
For millions of Her compatriots
And even only for Her comrades-in-arms, Prisoners of Conscience
«Mother Mushroom», She is writing
For myself, her old Mother and young Children
For Her Heart's ease.
As Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh wrote
On social and political issues
Including land confiscation
Police brutality and freedom of expression.
And She pour forth her thoughts
As though her Heart and Mind was resting.
Thinking from a little jail for a big prison :
«Who will speak if you don't ? »
«Mother Mushroom», She is writing
She voiced her support for fellow dissidents
And publicly campaigned for releasing

Many political prisoners including
Trần Huỳnh Duy Thức, Nguyễn Ngọc Già
Nguyễn Hoàng Quốc Hùng and Anh Ba Sàm Nguyễn Hữu Vinh
«Mother Mushroom», She is writing
For an environment of freedom from fear.
Xóa«Mother Mushroom», She is writing
Against Vietnam’s inhuman penal code
Includes crimes related to
«Conducting propaganda against the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam»

Article 88, like the two handcuffs for a Prisoner of Conscience
Article 88, penalty up to 20 years in jail
«Mother Mushroom», from beyond Her Home, as from far away
Her Actions before and now her words
Are flowing in Her Heart and on Her Mind
And are spreading her Soul over
Smiling and weeping silently
As Her young Children do
They and her old Mother
Gladden her uncomforted isolation in a cell
Inconsolable, She is joying in her beloved persons
As a thankful Daughter loves her old Mother
As a generous Mother loves her young Children
http://img.giaoduc.net.vn/Uploaded/duchoang/2015_03_24/2.jpg
So is She glad and merry with her own Fate now
Yes, yes She is rejoicing in Her dark cell
And the best Mother Vietnam for whom She is praising
That SHE doesn't let HER millions of Vietnamese children falling asleep

In Paris this so far-off Capital
I want to say to my Hometown, Hanoi :
"Let me run Home !
And let me tell the other compatriots
In the most beloved Vietnam
How bitter and how sad it is
To live in such a Motherland and Fatherland !"
